Small Group Training That Comes to You
If you live or work in Wando Woods or anywhere in North Charleston, you now have access to professional, coach-led small group training at a price that makes sense. Groups of 3–5 people — your friends, family, teammates, or coworkers — get a full personal training experience without the personal training price tag.
Primary sessions run every Tuesday evening at the Miner Crosby Community Center. But here's the key: when the building isn't available, the session moves to you — a local park, your backyard, or your driveway. The format travels. The coaching doesn't stop.

Tuesday Evening Schedule
Primary sessions run every Tuesday inside the Miner Crosby Community Center, 3901 Paramount Dr, Charleston, SC 29405. Three time slots available — pick what works.
$10 per person · Tuesday inside Miner Crosby only · Groups of 3–5 · Drop-in welcome
When the community center isn't available, sessions move to a local park or your home — same format, same coaching, same results. All you need is outdoor space and your group.
Two Specialty Tracks — Adults & Youth
Small group sessions at Charleston Strength Club aren't one-size-fits-all. Coach Adam offers two distinct specialty tracks depending on your goals:
Weight loss, longevity & performance.
All fitness levels welcome.
Ages 18+
Vertical jump training & explosive power.
Sport performance for student athletes.
All sports, all ages.
Whether you're an adult looking to get stronger and move better, or a young athlete trying to get faster and jump higher, the small group format delivers individualized coaching inside a team environment. Coach Adam tracks your progress, adjusts your programming, and pushes you the way a personal trainer would — at a fraction of the cost.
What Happens in Each Session
Every session follows a proven structure built by a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). The workout adapts to your track — but the framework is always the same: warm up right, move athletically, build strength.
- Floor Warm-Up & Stretching — Mobility and joint prep to reduce injury risk and prime your body for work.
- Dynamic Movements — Athletic movement patterns building coordination, agility, and body control.
- Ladder Drills & Medicine Ball Power Circuit — Speed, reactive agility, and explosive power. Especially targeted in the youth sprint/vertical track.
- Sprint Work & Vertical Jump Training — (Youth track) Acceleration mechanics, max velocity work, and plyometric jump training with weekly speed & power testing.
- Strength & Fitness Capacity Circuit — Coach-programmed strength work targeting major muscle groups. Scaled to your level.
Here's a perfect example of an exercise that needs no special space or equipment — just your body and a few feet of ground. Moves like this are the backbone of every session and build real, usable strength anywhere.
We Come to You — Park, Backyard, or Home
One of the biggest advantages of this small group format is its flexibility. No gym required. The programming is designed to work with minimal equipment — bodyweight, medicine balls, resistance bands, cones, and an agility ladder are all that's needed for a full, high-quality session.
Here's how it works when the Miner Crosby Community Center isn't available:
- Local Park — Open grass, flat ground, and space to run. Perfect for sprint work, ladder drills, and bodyweight strength circuits. Any park in the Wando Woods or North Charleston area works.
- Your Backyard or Driveway — If you have 3–5 people and enough outdoor space, Coach Adam brings the session to your home. Your neighborhood becomes the gym.
- Same Programming, Different Rate — Tuesday inside Miner Crosby is $10/person. Park and home group rates depend on your location and how many train together (3–5 people) — the bigger the group, the lower the cost per person. The coaching never changes.
This is especially valuable for youth athletes whose seasons overlap with facility availability, or adult groups who want the convenience of training close to home on a flexible schedule.
Here's the format in action at an actual park — same coaching, same intensity, no four walls required. This is exactly what your small group session looks like when we come to you.
Why Park & Home Workouts Get You Better Results
Training outdoors or at home isn't a compromise — for most people, it's actually the faster path to their goals. A crowded commercial gym full of machines looks impressive, but it's not what builds a strong, capable, athletic body. Open space and your own bodyweight are.
- Consistency is what actually drives results — The best program is the one you keep showing up to. When training is five minutes from your door instead of a 30-minute round trip to a packed gym, you train more often. More sessions completed beats a "perfect" gym you skip.
- Real, functional strength — Uneven grass, open ground, and bodyweight movement force your stabilizers, core, and joints to work the way they do in real life and in sport. Machines lock you into a fixed path; the outdoors trains strength that actually carries over.
- Space to move athletically — Sprinting, jumping, throwing, and crawling need room most gyms don't have. A park gives you the space to develop true speed and power — the qualities that change how a youth athlete performs and how an adult moves and ages.
- Mastering the fundamentals — Minimal equipment removes the distractions and forces quality reps of the movements that build the most strength: squats, hinges, pushes, pulls, and carries. Fundamentals done well outperform fancy machines done lazily.
- The outdoor advantage — Fresh air, natural light, and training under the sky lower stress, lift mood, and make hard work feel sustainable. People who enjoy their training stick with it — and adherence is the single biggest predictor of long-term results.
- Accountability close to home — Training with 3–5 people you know, in your own neighborhood, builds a routine and a crew that keeps everyone coming back. Community is a performance enhancer.
— Coach Adam Oliver, CSCS
None of this means you need to give up the gym forever — it means you don't have to wait for one to start making progress. Park and home sessions remove every excuse between you and your goals: no membership, no commute, no crowds, no waiting on equipment. Just coaching, your group, and the work.
Pro-Level Training in Limited Space
This isn't theory. During Coach Adam's time as Strength & Conditioning Coach for the SC Stingrays, he often had to develop professional hockey players in a fraction of the space a typical gym offers. The footage below shows exactly what that looked like — elite athletes getting better in a tight, no-frills setup.
If pro athletes can be built in limited space, your group can absolutely reach its goals at a park, in a backyard, or in a driveway. The space doesn't make the results — the coaching and the work do.
